KATHERINE (PREMACK) DMYTRIW July 1, 1920 - September 2, 2015 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful, sudden passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Wednesday, September 2, 2015. Mom was born on July 1, 1920 in Poplarfield, Manitoba, but lived her early years in Libau, Manitoba. In 1937 she met and married our dad, Joseph Dmytriw. They moved up and down the CN Railway in Ontario finally settling in Amesdale, Ontario. Mom and Dad moved to Winnipeg in 1950 to be able to give their children better education opportunities. Mom worked very hard all her life in her home and also for the City of Winnipeg full-time, retiring at age 65. Throughout Mom's life she loved gardening, needlepoint, cooking and baking. We remember well her homemade bread, buns, Easter paska, holupchi and pyroghies. Mom also played a significant role in helping to care for her two grandchildren in Winnipeg (Brooke and Tyler) after she had retired. She loved berry picking and playing cards with sister Elsie and husband John. Her favourite things were her beautiful gardens, her pink patience plants and all birds. She loved family gatherings and her visits to Vancouver. In May of 2014 Mom moved to Holy Family Personal Care Home where she was very well taken care of. We would like to give a big Thank You to all her caregivers at Holy Family, for all the support and kindness provided to our mother over the past 15 months (Annalee, Maria, Rockmini, Oksana, Susan, Maggie and Agnes). She was predeceased by husband Joseph (1992), eldest son Roy (2004), sons-in-law Walter Ohirko (2000) and Eddie Tressel (2010), brothers Mike and John Premack, and sisters Elsie Stupack and Nettie Sidorski. Left to mourn are her daughters Stephanie and Rosemarie; sons Richard and Ernie; daughters-in-law Betty and Evelyn (Roy), and sister Ann Omylanowski (Toronto). She will be remembered and truly missed by 12 grandchildren, especially Brooke and Tyler, Mike, Jill and Cori, Chad and Reid, and Alan. Mom also had 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. At Mom's request a private family remembrance will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to your favourite charity. Those we love never go away They walk beside us every day. Forever in our hearts Mother Love and miss you always. Your Family
