Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANCES BENZELOCK September 20, 1922 - September 11, 2015 Peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, Frances Benzelock passed away at St. Boniface Hospital. Sadly missed and forever loved by her children, son Gary (Janine), daughter Donna (Leo), her five grandchildren Tracy (Bernie), Brian (Sherri), Sheryl (Luis), Ryan (Dominique), and Keri (Rob), her seven great-grandchildren, Jared, Nathan, Ciara, Colton, Kaidyn, Matthew, and Corbin, and her only surviving sister, Helen Quiggen. Predeceased by her loving husband Michael in 1973, sisters Julia, Pauline, Olive and Evelyn, and brothers George, Carl and Walter. She was born in Garland, MB and moved to Winnipeg in 1924 where she later met her husband Mike. They were married in the Holy Ghost Church in 1943 where she continued to be an active member. She was a president of their women's league, routinely cleaned the church and participated in all church functions. She began working at a very early age, ending her working career of 15 years at the Eaton's warehouse and continued joining the Eaton's group for their casino trips and coffee parties. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, making and selling perogies as well as volunteering to serve dinners at Blue Bird Lodge. Her greatest enjoyment was having her family together for all special occasions. A skilled cook and perogy master she loved cooking for her family. Living a proud Christian life her deep faith was evident in her participation in all church activities. She will always be loved and remembered for her kindness, love and consideration of others. We love you mom! I'm Free Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free I'm now following the path God laid for me, I took His hand when I heard Him call, I turned my back and left it all I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I found that peace at the close of day. If my parting has left a void. Then fill it with remembered joys. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss. O yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savoured much, Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now. He set me free. Pallbearers: Brian Benzelock, Ryan Leavey, Bernie Paseluikho, Jared Emery, Chris Krawchenko, George Mironuk. Prayers will be held Wednesday, September 16, 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Funeral service will take place Thursday, September 17, 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Church, 40 Ada Street. Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery. Larry and I didn't know Frances all that well, but what we did know, we liked. She was a very nice lady, and seemed to be able to mother the whole world. Always at work in her kitchen, whenever she heard that Larry was going to be at a gathering, she would make extra cabbage rolls because he loved them so much. Our condolences to Donna and family. - Posted by: Tracee And Larry () on: Sep 15, 2015
