COREY CAMPBELL HENDERSON September 13, 1951 - September 10, 2015 On Thursday, September 10, 2015 our Trail Blazer, Corey, forged a fresh path to heaven. Corey was a Christian, dedicated to his faith, family and friends. He was respectful of the environment and liked tending to the animals. His passion for this showed in his daily life and carried into his many career choices. Corey enjoyed being a Zoo Keeper at Assiniboine Park Zoo, but his true natural gift was helping people. He was not only a teacher that worked with disadvantaged kids but also a City of Winnipeg Fire Fighter. Corey was the ultimate adventurer and outdoorsman. He was one of the founding members of the Winnipeg Sports Club. He loved to travel and explore; from the Rocky Mountains to the South Pacific. He spent many summers at the cottage at Lake of the Woods; enjoying all that "Lake Life" had to offer. Spending time at his lake "work camp" with his bride', mom, many nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and neighbours was always valued and cherished. His door was always opened to welcome weary travelers. His heart will forever touch the lives of all who knew him. We love you Corey and always will; wife - Carol, mother - Nonie, mother-in-law - Shui, father-in-law - Moon, in-laws, nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and True Pards. A celebration of Corey's life was held at Central Church of Christ, 170 St. Mary's Road on September 16, 2015. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Central Church of Christ c/o Youth Fund.

  • Our hearts were incredibly saddened when we heard the news of Corey's passing, what we think is far to young. Each time we go to our cottage, we see the beautiful sign the two of you made for us, and it has and will continue to make us think of Corey. May God himself give you the strength to walk in this deep grief. We know we will see Corey again in Heaven. Our love and prayers go out to you. - Posted by: Alvin and Joy Klassen (friend, co-worker) on: Sep 16, 2015

  • Corey lived his life to the fullest. He was a great friend and an inspiration to those who strive to live a Christian life. Carol and Corey were perfect partners, approaching all of life with optimism, charity, kindness, and a joy in their hearts for God and goodwill for all. Corey's time on this earth was too brief, and his passing leaves me with an emptiness and sadness that will never be filled. And yet I celebrate his life and shall always be thankful and mindful of how he touched my life and heart. Pards forver. - Posted by: Bob Ainslie and family (friend) on: Sep 15, 2015
