ANNE ELIZABETH (LIL) LOWER (nee MCLEOD) March 1, 1922 - September 13, 2015 Lil was born in Winnipeg, MB, on March 1, 1922 and died peacefully on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at the Fairview Personal Care Home in Brandon, Manitoba. Lil Lower, aged 93 years, formerly of Selkirk and Lundar, Manitoba. Lil was predeceased by her husband Albert (Bert) and her parents Annie and Samuel McLeod; brothers Clifford, Dick, Kenny and sister Mary and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law. Lil was survived by her sisters Mabel Fingland and Lorraine Ganton; her children Bill, Wayne (Denise), and Debbie (Jerry); her grandchildren Kathy (Bob) Boddy, Jeff (Marcie) and Joey Lower, Jamie (Christy), Ryan and Sean (Sarah) Erickson; her great-grandchildren Jenna and Makayla Boddy, Madison and Abagail Lower and Quinton, Camryn, Caitlyn, and Mason Erickson, Maddy, Ellie Erickson and Ethan and numerous nieces and nephews. Over the years mom enjoyed spending time in Lundar playing cards, going to Bingo with her husband and best friend Bert. As a past president and life time member of Lundar Legion Ladies Auxiliary No. 18. Mom made many friends and enjoyed baking and working at many functions. Mom especially loved her time with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. While mom spent her time in Selkirk, she made many dear friends with her involvement in the community. She kept her faith in The Lord by faithfully attending at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Selkirk. Mom lived her life one day at a time. The family would like to thank Dr. Visser for taking Mom on as a patient when she moved to Brandon as well as to Dr. Deong and to the loving staff at Fairview for the care you provided over the years. Funeral Services will be held at Lundar Legion Hall on Saturday, September 19, 2015 with viewing from 12:30-1:00 p.m. and service at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Clarkleigh Cemetery. Active pallbearers are her six grandsons, Jeff Lower, Jamie Erickson, Joey Lower, Ryan Erickson, Bob Boddy and Sean Erickson. Honorary pallbearers are her nephews. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2B7 or Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, Box 448, Selkirk, MB, R1A 2B3.
