As with others my memories of Mr. Chochinov go back to his Pharmacy at Salter and Seven Oaks. My Father, Nick was a friend and we dropped by frequently. Dad LOVED "kibitzing' with Ben and boy could he deliver the snappy one liners.....kind of a "north-end" Rodney Dangerfield but with much more class! After Dad passed I kept up the tradition of visiting Mr. Chochinov whenever passing by the store or later at Safeway. A great, generous and caring Man! Condolences to the Family. - Posted by: Don Kraichy (Friend) on: Oct 03, 2015

Thoughts and prayers for Ben's family. My story of Ben goes back when I was 13 yrs old. My Dad, Dixion Robertson, used to take me to see Ben at the pharmacy that he worked at that time on Salter and Seven Oaks corner. I developed Arthritis at the young age of 13 when diagnosed, now 49 yrs old. Ben used to call me to come behind the counter and he would put up a stool for me to sit at the counter and he told me to count out my months worth of medicines, back then it was 4 pills per day x 30 so at that age that was a lot of work however I think a lot of it was to take my mind off of my diagnosis with Ankylosing Spondylitis .. Rare for girls .. I loved going with my Dad on Saturdays to see Ben. He was always a part of our life right up until my Dad passed. Ben was my Mom and husband, Wally's pharmisist at Safeway on Main and Inkster. He truly impacted all of our lives with his calmness, funny wit / jokes and super personality. He never forgot you .. You will be missed .. I know for sure you have met up with my Dad !!! Brenda (Robertson) Meyer - Posted by: Brenda (Robertson) Meyer (Friend) on: Sep 23, 2015

I worked with Ben at the Safeway on Mountain and Mcgregor Ave. for a number of years. I will always remember Ben for his sense of humor and friendly manner. Ben would always go out of his way to say hello or impart a friendly greeting. I enjoyed our talks about many topics past and present. Ben was well liked by his co-workers and many patients. I know they were the recipients of his kindness and generosity. Condolences to Ben's wife, family and friends. - Posted by: Will Tabas (co-worker) on: Sep 20, 2015
