ERNEST GARFIELD SMITH December 15, 1934 - September 13, 2015 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ernest Garfield Smith on Sunday, September 13, 2015, at the age of 80 years, after a courageous battle with cancer. Ernest is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Lillian; his four children, Shawn, Thane, Cory (Marla), and Troy (Roxanne); and six grandchildren (in birth order), Dustin, Daniel, Cody, Jordyn, Carson and Declan, as well as many friends and relatives both in Winnipeg, MB and Kelowna, BC. Also left to forever cherish his memory is his dog and most precious friend, Peanut. Ernest (Pops) was born and raised in Duck Lake, SK. He was predeceased by his father, Arthur Edward Smith, and his mother, Sara Jane Smith. The family would like to thank everyone for their ongoing prayers and support. A celebration of Ernest's (Pops') life will take place on Saturday, September 26 at 10:30 a.m. at Wheeler Funeral Home, 1800 Day Street, Winnipeg, MB.
