ELEANOR ISABELLA CHRISTIAN July 1, 1922 - September 15, 2015 Eleanor was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on July 1, 1922 and was the eighth of ten children born to Agnes Louisa and Harry Tinney. She passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Memory Lane in Camrose, Alberta. Eleanor married her first husband Fred Jenkins on May 6, 1941. From this union they had five children, Diane, Bob, Nancy, Richard, and Sandra. She remarried on June 18, 1966 to Jim Christian. They moved to the New Norway area and farmed with Jim's father Ed and sister Rose and retired in April 1977 and moved to Camrose. Eleanor's work career consisted of Eatons in Winnipeg, Manitoba in book sales, Rosehaven Care Facility, and as a homemaker. Eleanor's life was very devoted to the Camrose Legion. She was involved in the Darts, Cribbage, and Bowling Clubs. She was a life member of Ladies Auxiliary and received her 50 year pin alongside her dear friends Vi Webber and Irene Hendrickson. Eleanor loved playing cards, yahtzee, crocheting, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren whom have very fond memories of their "Nana". Her and Jim spent a few years wintering in Apache Junction, Arizona prior to Jim's passing in 2009. Eleanor is survived by her children Diane (Forrest) Barnhart, Bob (Bev) Jenkins, Nancy (Larry) Meyer, and Sandra (Tim) Forberg; daughter-in-law Patricia Christian; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great- grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Jim Christian, her son Richard Christian, and her first husband Fred Jenkins. A funeral service for Eleanor will be held on Monday, September 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. from the Burgar Funeral Home Chapel in Camrose with Reverend Bill Harder officiating. Inurnment will take place in the Camrose Cemetery. If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Stollery Children's Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, or the Alzheimer Society of Alberta.
