Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIAN WRIGHT Peacefully, on Friday, September 11, 2015 Marian Wright, aged 96 years passed away at the Grace Hospital. Marian was born on January 25, 1919 in Trinidad, where her father was a missionary. She is survived by her brother Fred (Wilma); her daughter Shirley (Mervyn); her nieces Susan (John), Sandy (Keith), Junanne and Lori; nephews Ed (Jenn) and Jeff (Debi); great nephews Brian (Carleigh) Adam (Terilyn) and Mitchell and great nieces Katie and Lisa and great-great nephew Liam. Marian was predeceased by her husband Lawrence; her brothers Bob, Cam and Allan and her sister Edith. She was also predeceased by her parents William and Ellen Hunter. Marian took her nursing degree in Thunder Bay and went on to nurse in hospitals in both British Columbia and Ontario. She worked in labour and delivery as babies were a favourite of hers which explains her profound joy in living long enough to meet her great-great nephew, Liam. In 1999 at age 80, Marian bravely moved to Winnipeg from Newmarket Ontario to be closer to her family. She resided at the Westhaven for many years when she was a frequent participant in all the fun activities they offered. She attended music and theatre events throughout Winnipeg and loved to visit the Folklorama pavilions each summer. She was a sweet gentle person, well liked by everyone she met. She will be remembered and missed by all those who knew her. A service to celebrate and remember Marian will be held on Saturday October 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Westwood Presbyterian Church 197 Browning Blvd.

Our condolences to your family on the passing of your loved one. We are the present owners of 287 Park Avenue in Newmarket Ontario and are actively trying to piece together the WRIGHT family history of this home, which was built by her father in-law William Medford Wright in 1913. I would presume Marian lived for some time here in this home, along with her husband and his mother Bertha Elizabeth. Our older neighbours tell us stories of her husband Lawrence pumping their bike tires from the basement workshop of this home and what a nice family they were.
