WALTER EDWARD ANDREJOWICH In the early morning of September 15, 2015, Walter (Wally) Edward Andrejowich Jr. ended his four month battle with Pancreatic Cancer while being cared for in the Riverview Health Centre. He was 68. Walter Andrejowich was born in Winnipeg on a cloudy Saturday, November 1, 1946 to Francis (Bukowski) and Walter Andrejowich Senior. He was the first born child of five, and all were raised on the family farm in Cooks Creek, MB. His sister Linda remembers how as a child he loved nature, and was always outside. One of their favourite night time excitements was playing hide and seek in the darkness of the night. He walked to attend the little Zora country school, and later left the simple life for the big city of Winnipeg, and University of Manitoba, where he completed his Engineering degree. His first job came in 1971, at the age of 24, with Manitoba Hydro, working in the computerized controls area. Walter enjoyed combining exercise with work, for 33 years he biked to work Spring through Fall. Always searching to find a better path, Walter became greatly involved in the Worldwide Church of God. It was on a church related trip to the USA in 1972 when he met his southern belle, Daniela Miesel. Whisking her back over the northern border, they settled into married life in St. Boniface and later St. Vital. Over the years their family bloomed to include five adventurous children. Walter loved to not only read and acquire knowledge on health, psychology, and healing, but to exuberantly share his newest findings with everyone around. He loved solving puzzles, so fixing cars, electronics, and household items seemed like a hobby. His greatest passion however, lay in wilderness canoe trips, which led the whole family to appreciate and enjoy the solitude of the remote lakes. In his later years he sought for inner peace with his Mind, Body and Spirit, appreciating yoga, dance and meditation. Walter's many years of dedication, wilderness adventure, practical living skills, inquisitive thinking, kindness and patience have been greatly appreciated by his family. His love and legacy will live on through his children and grandchildren. Walter was preceded in death by his eldest son Yuri Andrejowich, his sister Patricia Klos, and his father Walter Sr. Walter is survived by his partner, Simone Morin, the mother of his children, Daniela; his four children, Heidi and husband Albert Ordelheide, Tammy Mock-Andrejowich, Erika Andrejowich and Dustin Andrejowich. He is also survived by his siblings, Linda and husband Carmen McFadyen, Raymond Andrejowich, Janice and husband Walter Klassen, and his mother Francis. Walter also has four grandchildren: Javan, Micah, Emmerich Ordelheide and Lily Mock, and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. A special thanks to: the doctors and nurses of Riverview Health Centre in making Walter as comfortable as possible, to all the friends and family that came to visit to share in memories past and present and who reminded him he was LOVED! It was in these last few months it seemed Walter was able to find his life-long search for inner peace. Memorial service will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015. Location and time will be announced in the obituaries on Saturday, October 3, 2015. 204-668-3151

Condolences & Memories (11 entries)

  • Just found out about your passing, Walter old friend. I remember our many and varied, in-depth conversations, and how you would read to me on cassette anything from church articles, articles and study involving matters of the soul, and as a beginning blind engineer data sheets for electronics parts and systems--some of which were cutting-edge at that time. The answers for which you lived and for which you sought -- in these things and more you will be satisfied. You were always a gentle soul with me, patient and fun. Your voice when interacting with me sounded younger and chipper than on the tapes. I still have recordings of you reading to me, and of your little baby girl just learning to speak. R.I.P., Walter old friend.. - Posted by: Charles Pond (friend from church) on: Feb 28, 2016

  • From what I can remember, I was 4 years old when my family met Walter's family back in the '70s. We all had attended World wide Church of God. I will always remember him as a kind and patient man. My heart goes out to you the family. May the peace of God that surpasses all understanding abide in you in Jesus name. • Met Walter many years ago and enjoyed camping out with him, as we were involved as overseers with the local Boy Scout Troop. Walter was a very passionate person when it came to the love for nature. We had many talks together and I found that Walter was not afraid to venture out and discover things. My condolences to "Donnie" and their children, his brother Ray and his cousin, Dennis. See you later, Walt, there is a Universe out there to discover ! - Posted by: Randy Fisher (past friend) on: Sep 21, 2015

  • Walter, when we met we were both on the path for inner peace and deep connecting and I thank you for our discussions about consciousness. Seeing you at Riverview showed me the deep and vast love you have, the ultimate goal for me too. Sharing Simone and Dustin with us was a treat. See you in another dimension my friend. - Posted by: Hazrah Khan (Friend) on: Sep 21, 2015

  • Thank you Dad for being my Dad. You have been a blessing to me and Lily in so many many meaningful ways. Exposing me to the pristine nature on our wilderness canoe trips, teaching me survival skills, and giving me a sense of adventure is part of your legacy that lives on in Lily. Thank you Dad. May Peace abound in you. Tammy - Posted by: Tammy K. Mock-Andrejowich (Daughter) on: Sep 20, 2015
