ALLAN JAMES MONTGOMERY (MONTY) February 14, 1949 - September 11, 2015 Peacefully surrounded by the love of his family, Al passed away on Friday, September 11, 2015, at Health Sciences Centre. He will be sadly and forever missed by his loving family - wife Carol, daughter Kerris (Chris), son Ryan (Tracy), grandsons Caelin, Camden and Dylan. He is survived and lovingly remembered by his sister Margaret (Dave), brothers George (Pat) and Robert (Gaylene), mother-in-law Nellie, plus many nieces, nephews and numerous friends. Al was predeceased by his parents Gordon and Georgina Montgomery, father-in-law Ronald Schmunk, as well as his much loved dogs Sandy, Heidi and Fritz. Al was born and raised in St. Vital, attending Varennes School and Glenlawn Collegiate. Prior to his passing Al was employed as an owner operator with Purolator Courier. Al lived like he loved, enjoying every moment. He loved his dog Eddy, his music, his beer and his summers at Chesley's where he would cook, fish, play horse shoes and dance for all. During Al's final journey he taught his family and those surrounding him the true meaning of strength, after all: "IT IS WHAT IT IS" Al's family would like to thank the staff at Health Sciences Centre GD4 who provided such great care, love, comfort and support during this trying time. Honouring Al's wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to CancerCare Manitoba in his name.

So sorry to hear about Al. Will always have great memories of "Thursday nights in Tyndall Park" and the trip to the Grey Cup Larry and Al took.
