MICHAEL DOMENCO (MITCH) (Pa) It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Michael Norman Domenco on September 18, 2015 at the age of 66. Michael was a father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin, he was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Elsie (Saluk) Domenco. Dad was a unique strong person who marched to the beat of his own drum. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his family. Dad enjoyed being a grandpa, he was "Pa" to his grandchildren including his little pal Charlie. Mitch was well known in Transcona where he worked and lived. He retired from CN. Over his career he met many acquaintances and formed many life long friendships. He will be missed by all that knew him. With respect to dad's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private celebration of his life will take place in the future. Flowers gratefully declined. Should friends and family so desire, have a drink and toast "Mitch" in honor of his life. The family wishes to thank Dr. Julian Kim from CancerCare Manitoba and the nurses at Concordia Hospital for their kind care of dad. Also, Wheeler Funeral Home for their compassion and respect. "Mother Mary comes to me Speaking words of wisdom, let it be And in my hour of darkness She is standing right in front of me Speaking words of wisdom, let it be" The Beatles

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • I BEGAN READING LAST SATURDAY`S PAPER AND WHAT A SHOCK I RECEIVED WHEN I ARRIVED AT THE OBIT SECTION. TOTALLY FLOORED! I HAD NO IDEA THAT MITCH WAS SO SICK. MITCH AND I WERE VERY GOOD FRIENDS FOR MANY YEARS BUT WHAT USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN YOU GROW OLDER IS THAT YOU KIND OF LOSE TOUCH. I REALLY REGRET NOT BEING ABLE TO AT LEAST SAY GOODBYE. REST IN PEACE MITCH - YOU DESERVE IT. MY CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY. - Posted by: DON YAWORSKI (FRIEND) on: Sep 30, 2015

  • So sorry to hear that Mike passed away. We had been friends from the early 70's. As time goes by and retirement takes over your life, you don't have the opportunities to see all your friends from work. I have had a lot of good times with Mike and will be able to share them with others from work when we meet again, Mike was always full of surprises. To his family I'm so sorry. - Posted by: Robert Hooper (Friend and working bother) on: Sep 28, 2015

  • Mitch was our band's manager. He dedicated so many hours of his time in the 60's to getting us practice space at the East End Community Centre, helping us choose songs, encouraging us to play. An intense candle that finally reached the end of it's wick, but which shone brightly in our eyes. - Posted by: Bill Grulkey (Friend) on: Sep 26, 2015

  • Happy resting place, Mitch. Thanks for being there for me in my time of need. Appreciated your friendship and sense of humor. John Kuban (Lorette, MB) - Posted by: John Kuban (CN colleague) on: Sep 26, 2015
