She passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on Saturday, September 19, 2015. Fran had a special connection to her devoted children, Susan (Graham), Lori, Gordon (Sandy), James (Melissa); grandchildren, Caroline, Lindy (Joe), Mark (Brittany), Tiffany (Chase), Larissa, Kimberley (Kyl), Katelyn, Airel, Sydni; great-grandchildren Joseph and Willow; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Roy, Norman, Carl, Buddy, Albert; sisters, Ruth, Kay, Hazel; granddaughter, Melissa, and her good friend, John. Born to Lena and Hans Hanson. Fran lived all of her life in East Kildonan. She had a special connection to all that knew her. Her energy, caring, kind, and gentle nature was so infectious. Fran had many passions especially travelling, spending holidays in Mexico and enjoyed the warmer climate in Arizona in her later years. She was a true Blue Bomber fan, loved walking with friends, curling, gardening, and cherished all the time she spent with family. Thank you to the doctors and staff of Concordia Hospital. In compliance with our Mother's wishes, no formal Funeral Service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. For those of you who have a mother, Treasure her with care, For you will never know her value, Till you see that she is not there. To hear her voice. To see her smile. To sit and talk with her awhile To be together in the same old way, Would be our dearest wish today. Heaven has gained another angel Lovingly remembered and sadly missed

Fran was an amazing woman. I was a very lucky daughter-in-law to have such a special lady as my mother-in-law. I am so glad that we got to see her and spend time with her on our recent visit to Winnipeg. It was so nice to see her having a good time and of course, she made us Smile! She will be truly missed. - Posted by: Sandy Malmgren (Daughter-in-law) on: Sep 27, 2015
