GUY WARREN January 25, 1948 - September 22, 2015 Guy was called home by his Heavenly Father on September 22, 2015 at Seven Oaks Hospital, at the age of 67 years. We are grieving his absence, but we are relieved that his suffering has ended. The legacy that Guy created will remain with us always. Guy was predeceased by his father-in-law Stephen Halbert, his father Charles Warren, and his mother Edna Warren. Guy leaves to mourn his passing; his wife of nearly 46 years Linda Warren. His children: Cam (Cass) Warren, Kristin (Jason) Warren, Sherry Schumardo, Markos (Eyerusalem) and Seble (Pino) Tegegn. Guy was a wonderful Grandpa and leaves to mourn his passing his grandchildren; Joel, Amy, Addison and Eden Warren, Rebecca, Naomi, Desire, Bethanya, Eyoel, and Solyana Tegegn. Guy also leaves to mourn his passing his mother-in-law Vera Halbert; brother-in-law Don (Carolyn) Halbert, and sister-in-law Laurie (Tim) Cadarian. Guy had a special bond with his younger brother Kevin (Cindy) Warren. Guy also leaves behind his brothers; Dale, Hartley, and Mark Warren, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Guy was the third of five sons to be born to Edna and Charles Warren. He grew up in St. James area of Winnipeg, and attended Westwood Collegiate. This is where Guy met the love of his life, and high school sweetheart Linda Halbert. Guy was an extremely savvy business man, and started off in the business world working for the Sunbeam Corporation in 1965-1972. Guy worked his way from a shipping/receiving position, to appliance repair, and eventually Customer Service. Driven to succeed he moved into a management position with Zeller's Canada where he worked until 1976. Guy then returned to Sunbeam when a management position became available, and moved his wife and infant son to Regina, Saskatchewan. Guy was soon offered the Manager's position in Winnipeg due to his skill and abilities. Guy won many awards for the store's high sales; including vacations, and monetary incentives. While working full time Guy attended night school at the University of Manitoba and gained the designation of Certified in Management (C.I.M) in 1982. Guy managed with the Sunbeam Corporation from 1976-1993 when Sunbeam Canada closed all corporate outlet stores across Canada. It was at this time that Guy decided to open his own Franchise in the current Sunbeam location. Guy was quoted in a Winnipeg Free Press article about the closures as stating "I wasn't about to jump off a sinking ship knowing we weren't sinking". Guy negotiated with Sunbeam Canada and struck a deal to become the parts distributor for Sunbeam Canada, as well as the Warranty depot for Sunbeam. In addition, Guy negotiated with over thirty small appliance companies to become their warranty depots, and parts distributors. Guy owned and operated the independent franchise until July 2008. Guy had an extraordinary work ethic, which he instilled in his children. Although Cameron managed the day to day business of Factory Outlet Small Appliance until June 2001, his children all had the privilege of working alongside their loving father. Guy had remarkable talents including an amazing memory for recalling dates, phone numbers, part numbers, historical information as well as his own history, that of others history and general trivia. Guy was able to fix anything no matter the make, model or age. He could create an obsolete part for appliances, and solve any issue with his "thinking outside the box" sort of problem solving. Guy placed great value on being a man of Integrity. He was a member of the Gideon's, and prior to becoming ill an active member of his church. Guy was a Sunday school bus driver, an Elder and elected Treasurer in his service to the church. Guy coached his children's soccer, and hockey teams, and was always so proud of his children's accomplishments. Guy loved history, Clint Eastwood, Johnny Cash, Buddy Holly, and Roy Orbison. Guy also loved to sing, and dance with his wife, children and grandchildren. Guy enjoyed travelling, and one of his favorite places to visit was Florida with his children and grandchildren. One of his most memorable vacations was a trip he took with Markos to Europe and India. Guy was extremely sensitive to the needs of the vulnerable, and the hurting. He befriended and assisted many throughout his life. His heart truly hurt when he saw others hurting. Even when he was hospitalized due to dementia and complication of diabetes, Guy was still assisting others with greater needs than his own. This could be as simple as a word of encouragement, offering a prayer, physically assisting patients, or attempting to teach a skill. As Guy's disease progressed and his memory deteriorated, his one dream was to return home to live with his wife. Guy's faith brought him peace, and he cherished the time he had with family, and friends. The world has lost an amazing man, but because we believe in Jesus Christ we know we will see you again. We love you Guy! A Celebration of Guy's life will be held on Monday, September 28th at 11:00 am at Garden Park Church located at 1825 Inkster Blvd. Rev. Don Gibson officiating. Reception to follow. Thank you to Guy's care team at Seven Oaks General Hospital 3rd floor; Unit 11. With special thanks to: Bernice, Laurel, Tracey, Lois, Nadine, Jill and Dr. Bialy. A silent prayer, like dreamers do, then I fall asleep to dream my dreams of you. In dreams I walk with you in dreams, I talk to you, in dreams you're mine all the time, we're together in dreams, in dreams" - Roy Orbison
