  • We met Alan when he offered to do some gardening for us. He became a wonderful friend and was always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that our garden looked beautiful. Each time we look at the garden, we can see him deciding where to place each plant. We won't forget his hearty laugh and his gentle nature. The gardens in heaven must certainly be looking beautiful....we will miss you Alan ❤ - Posted by: Ricki and Gary Miles (Friends) on: Oct 07, 2015

  • Allan, a Blanchette cast from a different mold then the others. Artistic, kind, gentle, will be missed by all that happened to cross his path on his life's journey like I did. My prayers are with you Allan until we meet again on the other side. - Posted by: Gerry Maynard (Friend) on: Oct 04, 2015

  • Alan was one of my favorite people to be cast with at the Hollow Mug, He was a charming person, gifted singer and great stage personality. My all time favorite was doing King and I with him. Alan's kindness was known by everyone as well as his sense of humor. Oh Alan - its too soon. God must have immediate need of a song and dance man in Heaven. Fly with the angels Alan - you have left a song in our hearts. - Posted by: carla norris-raynbird (fellow musician and actor) on: Oct 03, 2015

  • We still hear your beautiful piano playing enjoying a beautiful evening of amazing food prepared by your hands. You will be missed. Cheers our friend. - Posted by: Bruce and Sheila (Friends) on: Oct 02, 2015

  • Alan was our first housemate in Winnipeg. We all sang and danced up a storm in those robust, youthful, artistic days and then we caught up with each other in the hallway by the kitchen for lively chats. We laughed and dreamed and encouraged one another - and solved all of the world's problems and we shared so many wonderful mutual friends. Alan brought smiles to so many and yet so often harboured deep pain. We pray Alan is resting peacefully at last. - Posted by: Janis Dunning and Jacques Lemay (Friends for forty years) on: Oct 02, 2015

  • I met Alan as a fellow gardener, and he lives in my heart as a good friend and respected colleague. The consummate host and gourmet; he will indeed be an entertaining angel in Heaven ~Wm - Posted by: William (Bill) Dowie (Gardener Friend and Colleague) on: Oct 02, 2015

  • Uncle Alan continued to reach out to me and my children after my husband left. He called to express his sympathy after my boyfriend died and my daughter was born.
