JULIUS FRANK BAYOMI June 1, 1925 - September 26, 2015 Sadly, we regret to announce the passing of our father, Julius Frank Bayomi, peacefully on September 26, 2015 with our family by his side at Seven Oaks Hospital. Dad is survived by his two sons, Dennis (Heidi) and Donald (Nicole), and was predeceased by his parents Frank and Mary, and last year by his wife Betty (Yarema), after 55 years of marriage. Dad was born near Budapest, Hungary and moved to Winnipeg with his family when he was two. Dad joined the Army in the Second World War and to his last days could recite his regimental soldier number from memory. He went to university after the war and became a pharmacist. He worked for many years at Donald Drugs and later at Shoppers Drug Mart on Main at Redwood. After retirement, he enjoyed time with his family at Hillside Beach Trailer Park. Dad was in good health and still drove a car and cut the grass until he broke his hip three months ago. Our family wishes to extend our heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for the compassionate care Dad received while he was recovering from hip surgery and later on during his final week of illness. In keeping with Dad's wishes, there will be no funeral service and the family will mourn his passing privately. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Winnipeg Humane Society.

I just read of your Dad's passing. He has long been in my heart as a man who I had the opportunity to know on a daily basis for six years when I operated the Donald Drugs after my Father's passing in 1974. Your Dad and my Father had a long, strong relationship for many, many years. There was always a mutual respect between the two in the good and difficult times. Your Dad and I developed a great friendship and as you mentioned, he was always talking about his wartime experiences with me. I carry my memory of him with me to this day. He will be missed. - Posted by: Harold Singer () on: Oct 04, 2015
