MARY ELLEN HOLLEY It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Friday, October 2, 2015 at Golden West Centennial Lodge in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the age of 94 years. Left to mourn and cherish Mary's memory are her two daughters Gaye (Ray) Hicks and Sherry Dufault; and her grandsons Matthew, Nathan (Domenica), Shane (Graziella) Hicks and Jason (Brittaney) Dufault. Also missing her are great-grandchildren Connor, Easton, Sophia and Madden Hicks, and Jude Dufault; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Allan in 1956; her parents Ora and Beatrice Wagner; all of her six siblings, sisters Alice, Grace, Jean, Sandra and brothers Joe and Jack; as well as son-in-law Georges Dufault. Mom was raised in Brandon, Manitoba, which she left when she was posted to Winnipeg with the Air Force. It was there Mom met Allan Holley when she was assigned to work for him. Shortly after they left the Air Force, they married and moved to his hometown, Estevan, Saskatchewan. A new job for Allan sent them back to Winnipeg in 1952 and only four years later he passed away from ALS. Mom worked hard to raise her daughters on her own, employed at UMA Engineering until she retired in 1990. A service of remembrance for Mary will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in Silver Heights United Church, 199 Garrioch Avenue at Mount Royal Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Mom will be laid to rest with our father, Allan, with a private family Interment in Brandon Municipal Cemetery, 18th Street South (east side), Brandon, Manitoba. We would like to thank the staff at Parkview and at Golden West for their patience and caring for Mom during her difficult struggle with Alzheimer's.
