Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • We remember Velda as a no-nonsense, practical, loyal, stoic girl with a dry sense of humour. I didn't know her nearly as well as her younger sister, Lavina, but somehow I think I remember Velda having a crooked smile after saying or hearing something humourous! She made a wonderful patchwork quilt and matching pillow for me (Debbie) when I was roommates with Lavina, and some embroidered pillowcases also, all of which I still have. She took great pride in her work, for good reason, paying attention to every detail. Velda's last years were hard on her as well as her family. Yes, it's a blessing her struggle is over now. To the family: God comfort you, bless you, support you, love you, encourage you, guide you always as you move on in your lives and as you seek to follow Him. God be with you. - Posted by: Debbie (Froese) and Darren Barilski (friends) on: Oct 12, 2015

  • Our sincere condolences to Marlyn, John, Lavina and extended family in the passing of your wife, daughter, sister, cousin, and so much more. One person touches so many lives. We will always remember Velda as a kind and positive young lady. We remember being so pleased when she found love 22 years ago. May she rest in peace, her days of suffering are over now. Wishing you the comfort of Our Lord and the angels as you grieve the loss of your precious Velda. Sincerely, Monica and Isaac Hofer - Posted by: Isaac and Monica Hofer (Friends) on: Oct 12, 2015
