Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMONIKA WOODFINE Monika Woodfine (nee Helbig) passed away peacefully, with family at her side, on October 3, 2015 after losing her brief and painful battle with cancer. She is survived by her cherished husband of almost 32 years, Colin Woodfine, her only child, Petra Rentrop, and her stepson Brad Woodfine. She is also survived by her loving brother, Dieter Muller and wife, Barbel Muller, nieces, Angelika Kinkhorst, Bianca Struss and nephew Andreas Muller. Monika will also be deeply missed by her former mother-in-law, Betty Shaddock. Monika was born in Solingen, Germany in 1942 and immigrated to Canada in 1970, although remained true to her German heritage to the very end. She had a passion for business and the clothing retail industry where she worked her way from a part time sales clerk at Eaton's to joining the management team of Holt Renfrew, Penningtons and onto District Manager for Saan Stores and Casual Looks Plus in Winnipeg, MB. To her friends she was known as the German Martha Stewart because of her passion for crafts, cooking and sewing. She was so grateful for the support of her friends Loralee Fields, Suzanne Phung, Christina Nordstrom, Jackie Armstrong and stepson Brad who travelled to be by her side during her last days. We must also thank, with the deepest of gratitude, the staff and volunteers of the Christine Morrison Hospice for their excellent care and loving attention during this very difficult time. Monika also had a great love of nature and all of her creatures. She donated generously to the S.P.C.A. Please send any gifts or donations in her name to your local S.P.C.A. Monika was the kind of person who made an impact on anyone lucky enough to know her, and more so if you were blessed to call her friend or family. Her spirit, laughter, sharp wit, and wisdom will stay with us always, You were one in a million and you left too soon. Please join us to celebrate her life on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 1.30 p.m., Recreation Hall, Carriage Lane Park, 32691 Garibaldi Drive, Abbotsford.

Although I only met her once, through stories told by her Daughter, Petra, I knew that she was a strong and determined woman, while still caring and helpful to all who knew her. My condolences to her family, I know they miss her greatly. - Posted by: Rick Beckett () on: Oct 14, 2015
