JUNE MARILYN RENTON
Born: Aug 17, 1940
Date of Passing: Oct 07, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJUNE MARILYN RENTON August 17, 1940 - October 7, 2015 Peacefully on October 7, 2015, at the Health Sciences Centre with family by her side, our beloved mom and granny passed away at the age of 75 years. June will be forever remembered and sadly missed by her children Laurie (Ken), Greg (Mel), Linda (Tammy) and Kenny; grandchildren Kyle, Breanne, Daniel, Cassie, Alex ("Scooch"), Breanna and Meagan; sister Donna; sister-in-law Jean; and her aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. June was predeceased by her husband Allan (Bud) and her parents Donald and Patricia Hutcheon. June was born and grew up in Winnipeg. At the age of 16, she met the love of her life, Bud, at the CBC where they were both employed, and they married five years later. June was a devoted wife and mother, happy to make homemaking her primary occupation while her children were growing up. Later, she was employed as a hostess at The King's Plate and at The Viscount Gort Hotel, and as Secretary to the Dean of St. John's College at the U of M. June took great pleasure in researching her and Bud's family histories, spending countless hours lovingly putting together albums of photos and historical documents. She also enjoyed spending time at the family cottage at Gull Lake, visiting extended family in Dominion City, and taking family road trips down south to Arizona, California and Florida. June would have loved to have had her Buddy for more than their 41 years of marriage, and was devastated when she lost him suddenly in 2002. Her own struggle with illness was met with her typical stubborn determination. She fought hard, especially in the last few weeks of her life, but she is now at peace, reunited with her parents and her Buddy. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the incredible nurses, HCA's and doctors at the Health Sciences Centre who treated Mom with such gentleness, compassion and humour over the past four months. A celebration of June's life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 15 at the First Unitarian Universalist Church, 603 Wellington Crescent. Friends and relatives are invited to make memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, to the Manitoba Lung Association or share stories and condolences by visiting June's memorial page at www.integritydeathcare.com. We'll always love you Mom. INTEGRITY Cremation & Funeral Planning 204-295-5408 www.integritydeathcare.com
