I will always remember George's generosity with my family when I was young. We hadn't heard from him since shortly after my grandfather's passing but he'll always be the friendly old man from the shop. I'm so sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Mathew Hawkeye () on: Mar 08, 2016

I knew George from when i was very young as my Father and him worked together, and later I also working with him as a pipefitter. He acted grumpy at work but I always knew him as a kind and good person. Was a honor to know him and work with him. - Posted by: Walter Rottcher (Co-worker) on: Oct 27, 2015

It was so sad to hear of George's passing. He always had a funny comment or remark when he disagreed with you. He always made me laugh with his stubborn ways. He accomplished so much in life that he could be proud of. I know how difficult this last year has been for you all, but now your parents can rest in peace and live on in your memories together forever...hugs and love to you all. - Posted by: C Gibbs (Friend of Charlene) on: Oct 12, 2015

I started in the trades under your dad in Crystal City Manitoba. When that job ended he invited me to Winnipeg where I apprenticed. The first year I lived with your Dad, Mom and you kids. I talked with Geo a few months ago and we were going to keep in touch. When I read of your dad's passing it came as a shock to me. I hope you all keep well and I know he was very proud of you all and your children. My deepest condolences to you all. - Posted by: Tom Askew (Friend) on: Oct 10, 2015

"Grumpy" Grampa but a big softy! He loved telling tales about all of you and was so proud of you. The Downs should hold a special event for him. Even some of the great-grandkids made that trip with him! Will miss him! DEEPEST SYMPATHY AND LOVE TO ALL - Posted by: Barb Green (friend/cousin) on: Oct 10, 2015
