JEAN ANNIE GROSVENOR
Born: Nov 01, 1935
Date of Passing: Oct 03, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN ANNIE GROSVENOR (nee ANDERSON) (NANA) November 1, 1935 - October 3, 2015 Peacefully after a short courageous battle with cancer, and surrounded by her loving family Jean added herself to heavens compliment of angels. Nana leaves to mark her passing and always remember a loving husband Harry; sons Gary (Beverly), Andrew (Darlene), grandsons Zachary (Edel), Matthew (Natasha), Michael (Ally), Alexandra (Devin), Leah (Matthias) and Jean's first great-grandchild Valerie Jean. Valerie's birth gave Jean even more reason to battle hard. Sadly a battle she was not to win. Jean was predeceased by her parents, two brothers and a sister. Anyone fortunate to know Jean knew her as the first one to give help to anyone in need. Emigrating in 1964 from Manchester, England with her family, Jean worked full-time for Zellers and maintained the family home as well. She was always trying to improve her family's life, whether it was helping her sons and husband in sports, music and community endeavors, or other friends and family achieve their goals and dreams. Jean eventually became the director of Auntie Nita's Daycare in St. James and was instrumental in helping shape many young minds and lives. She had also always been active in ANAVETS No. 283 whether it was in the darts leagues, curling and the Membership Chair of the Over 55 Club. Since working as a seamstress in England, Jean continued to use her skills altering clothes for friends, family and customers including creating many, many wedding and formal dresses as well as the outfits for "The Swing Cats". It is nearly impossible to explain the incredible amount of people, friends and acquaintances Jean touched, making their lives richer and better for knowing her. Many can only dream of having that effect. In compliance with Jean's wishes, no Funeral Service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
