Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM JOHN SUTHERLAND SR. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of William John Sutherland Sr. on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Victoria General Hospital, at the age of 96 years. Father was born on the south side of Transcona August 24, 1919. After playing junior hockey with the Winnipeg Monarchs he went out to Morden to work at the Experimental Farm. While there he met my mother Olive, and they married in Nanaimo, BC. He played hockey for the Nanaimo Clippers while training with the army. After the war father worked for the CN Railway, when he retired he helped my brother at the Wildwood Golf Club. He and mother took us on many wonderful vacations. Later he and mother wintered in Lake Worth, Florida. He loved to golf and garden and was one of the first to buy flowers in the spring. We would like to thank the staff of the Victoria General Hospital for their care over the last nine weeks. Father was predeceased by his parents, William and Catherine, his wife Olive, son James Clark, and his three sisters and three brothers. He will be remembered by his son William John Jr., numerous nieces and nephews, brother-in-law Herman and family friend Ebba. In keeping with Father's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private service will be held at a later date. The Coutu Family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU & CO.
