Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEMILIA WOR (nee CZORNIJ) Emily passed away peacefully on October 12, 2015. She was predeceased by her husband Walter, on January 22, 1991. She is survived by her son Richard (Colleen), granddaughter Amy (Ivan Paulic) and great-granddaughter Eva, granddaughters Andrea and Anna, niece Mary Frolek and her children Mirek, JoAnn and Janet, along with their families, and grandniece Darotka and her family. Emily was born on November 16, 1923 in Huta-Lubecka, Poland. In 1942, she was forced to work in a paper factory and then on a farm. She eventually ended up in Italy, where she was liberated by the Polish army in 1945. One soldier, Walter, was to become her husband. They travelled to England, where they were married on October 22, 1947. In hopes of a better life, they then immigrated to Canada and travelled onto Winnipeg. Emily worked at various sewing factories. She enjoyed gardening and was always anxious to go mushroom, blueberry or strawberry picking with friends or family. Her most enjoyable times were spent with family. Her family especially enjoyed her perogies, lemon and blueberry pies, crepes and fingers'. She loved to laugh and was always ready to try new things. When well into her 80s, she even joined in on pilates sessions with her granddaughters. Emily suffered a stroke in 2011. A special thank-you goes out to both Oakview and Kildonan Personal Care Homes for the excellent care our beloved Mother, Babcia and Ciocia received, especially during her last weeks spent on this earth. Also, a thank-you goes out to Deacon Ken Parent for being with Emily and us during her final days.
