Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySARAH HADASSAH SAPOZNIK October 3, 1928 - October 3, 2015 With deep sadness we announce the passing of Hadassah, at the age of 87 years. She was predeceased by her beloved son Ben in 2003. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 68 years, Morris, her children Bella (Marvin), Sam, and Joe (Sharon), grandchildren Shira (Eyal), David (Monica), Laura (Fabian), Karlee (Blair), Kaylee (James) and Joshua, and her 11 great-grandchildren. Hadassah was born in Lodz, Poland. She and Morris married in 1947 and immigrated to Canada in 1953. She had a passion for learning and was known for her incredible memory, devotion to family and exceptional cooking and baking. Hadassah courageously shared her story of survival during the Holocaust with her family and many young people. She had a gentle and caring nature and was thoughtful, kind, and considerate of others. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. The family thanks the staff at Fred Douglas Lodge and her companion care workers, especially Loida and Jemma, for their gentle and compassionate care. Funeral services were held on October 7 at Etz Chayim Synagogue. Donations may be made to the Canadian Museum for Human Rights.
