Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or Memory(HERBERT D.) DALE SETTEE December 30, 1929 - October 15, 2015 Peacefully, with family by his side on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at the Seven Oaks General Hospital, Dad passed away at the age of 85 years. Left to cherish his memory are his children Cheryl Sinclair (Mervin), Karen Taylor of Alert Bay, BC, Danella Morin (Brian) and Grant Settee (Angela); sister Dolores Bowman of Winnipeg; grandchildren Denise Fey (Gary), Randi-Lee Sinclair, Devin Morin (Krissy), Misty Scott and Steven Morin; great-grandchildren Crystal (Wayne), Alyssa, Jade, Kyla, Ashlynn, Emily, Parker, Leam and Eden; great-great- grandchildren, Kashtyn, Rylan, Kira-Lee and Rayna; dear friend Ingrid Demchenko; and Pat and Walter Wozny. Dad was predeceased by his wife Edith in October 1955; parents Herbert and Kathleen; sisters Esther and Verna; brothers Richard and Allan; granddaughter Corrine and great-grandson Hunter. Dale had a longtime presence in the business community of Selkirk and surrounding area. After being employed for a time at local businesses, one being Town and Country Electric, he went on to establish his own company at the beginning of the sixties, called Dale's Electric. Starting out with nothing but himself and an old delivery van, over the years, he would eventually have had several dedicated employees of his own and had created a strong bond with a vast clientele. He also taught his son Grant the electrical trade and together they continued to work as father and son throughout the remainder of his working career. Dale was also a longtime member of the Selkirk Legion Branch No. 42. In his younger years he trained as reserves for the armed forces. His Masonic affiliations are far and wide. A longtime member of the Shriners, Vintage Car Club, he enjoyed the local parades with his Chevy Beaumont and his fellow Shriners. He also had affiliations with the Eastern Star (ladies branch of masonry), Affinity for the Jobs Daughters (young ladies) and Demolay (young men) of Freemasonry. Dale was a longtime member of the local Lodge of Selkirk, Lisgar Lodge. Dale was the Worshipful Master of the Lodge in 1988. After that he served as secretary of the lodge for many years. His health then became a burden and he could no longer participate in the fellowship he so much enjoyed. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 21 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk, Manitoba. The family wishes to thank Dr. Karen Appel and her team, Evelyn Mitchell, unit Manager on the 5th floor, unit 3 at Seven Oaks and her staff. Zeny Cordoviz was very special to Dad as she could put a smile on his face at any time. Lana, Preston and Helen from Amber Meadows for the care you gave Dad during his stay with you. Thank each and every one of you for the care and compassion you gave to Dad. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dads honor to Paws Pals Animal Rescue, c/o Best West Pet Foods. Happy to meet. Sorry to part. Happy to meet again. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
