Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I met Mom shortly after my 18th Birthday in 1982. The house was full on Plessis Road where Mom, Wallace stayed. Though loving to meet people back then I was very nervous and a little scared going to meet a whole new family. I had figured I'd be meeting maybe 10 or 12 people, but was surprised to come into a house full of 40 to 60 people. After weaving through people and getting to meet aunts, uncles and cousins along the way, I was introduced to Mom. The thing that hit me the most about Mom was her strength. She just had such a strong personality, Anyone who knows Mom knows what I mean. Mom has such a way of making a person feel comfortable no matter what was going on. I will always remember Mom grabbing this scared little 18 year old who thought he was so cool and making him feel so welcomed.I will miss many things about Mom: her strength ,her humor, her comforting smile. Mom would always share with me how she would pray for every one of her children and grandchildren by name and she meant it. Well I will miss my mother and I mean that. Bye Mom love you and see you soon. - Posted by: Vern Swaity (Son) on: Oct 23, 2015
