ELIZABETH TKACH (nee BARYLA) April 29, 1917 - October 18, 2015 A heart of gold stopped beating. It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Mother and Baba on Sunday at the Charleswood Personal Care Centre in Winnipeg. Mom and Baba will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her sons, Peter (Marilynn), Vern (Faye) and daughter Florence (Paul) Boyechko. Grandchildren, Todd (Kelly) Tanchak, Colin (Kinnon) Tkach, Kerilyn Bevin, Kristi Tkach, Cory (Melanie) Tkach, Darcy Tkach and Kari Tkach. Great-grandchildren, Joshua, Mackenzie, Kailey, Jamie, twins Terrin and Kira, Ireland and Nicholas. Elizabeth was predeceased by her loving husband Peter, of 51 years in 1985; grandson Trevor Tanchak in 2001; son-in-law Harry Tanchak in 2011; daughter Mary Tanchak in 2015; parents, William and Martha Baryla; brothers, John, Michael, Peter, George, Nicholas, William; and sisters, Nellie, Ann and Jean. Mom took great pride caring for her family and home. An avid gardener and an excellent cook with her perogies and cabbage rolls being number one. Mom was very active in her parish church and the senior's centre. Mom was an avid bingo player and enjoyed buying break-open tickets and was very lucky. Mom's pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Todd Tanchak, Colin Tkach, Cory Tkach, Darcy Tkach, great-grandson Joshua Bevin, nephew Albert Twerdowski and cross bearer nephew Peter Didychuk. Funeral liturgy to be held on Friday, October 23, 2015, 11:30 a.m. at the St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Rorketon, by Father Oleg Bodnarski. Interment at the Rorketon Cemetery.
