He was the middle child of five. While in the Military, he met Helen Gold in Winnipeg. They married in Winnipeg in 1943 and they lived in the Lakehead, where they operated a furniture store and he was employed by Canada Car. In 1958, they moved to Winnipeg where Helen's sisters, Mary Greenberg (Morris) and Jocy Brenner (Sid) lived. He worked at Manitoba Furniture and Kernhill Furniture. Abe was a quiet, gentle, generous man. He was predeceased by his beloved Helen on September 21,1972 and his son Irwin, to whom he was devoted, on June 8, 2015. Also by siblings, Bernard, George, Sarah Segal and Jim, and his in-laws. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law Shayna and Merrill Shulman and grandchildren, Ellyn and David. We are grateful to the Simkin Centre where Abe lived the last year. Sincere appreciation to Cantor Tracy Kasner-Greaves for her sensitivity and insight.
