Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARJORIE CHRISTINA ANDERSON (nee GREEN) Peacefully, on March 4, 2015 at Seven Oaks General Hospital in Winnipeg, Mrs. Marjorie Christina Anderson (nee Green), passed away. She had just recently celebrated her 89th birthday. Marj is remembered by her devoted sons and their families: Brian, daughter-in-law Patti and grandson Kevin; Blair, daughter-in-law Donna and grandsons, Connor and Colin. She will be lovingly missed by her many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends all over the world. Marj, the second of three daughters, was born to Frank and Christina Green on February 25, 1926 at Mrs. Lill's Nursing Home in Winnipeg, MB. She was raised and educated in Winnipeg before beginning a short career with the Bank of Montreal until married to Squadron Leader J. Alan (Andy) Anderson DSO, DFC, CdeG on April 29, 1949. From there a global adventure began with Alan's career in the Royal Canadian Air Force. In 1965, Marj returned to Winnipeg after her loving husband was killed in a flying accident and buried at sea. Marjorie committed the rest of her life to her two sons, their families and her extended family. She was a longtime member of the Lord Selkirk Settlers Association and a devoted member of the Kildonan Presbyterian Church. Marj was predeceased by her parents, Frank Irvine Green in 1962 and Christina Helen Green (nee McIvor) in 1977; her oldest sister Helen Alberta Neville in 2004 and her younger sister Francis Irene Smith in 1959. Marj did not care for funerals. Her ashes, at her request, were interred in the Anderson family plot at historic Old Kildonan Presbyterian Church cemetery. Immediate and extended family gathered at the gravesite to offer their final thoughts, memories and prayers. Following, in her honour, a memorial tea was held at the Kildonan Presbyterian Church to celebrate her love of life.
