PHYLLIS GRACE MACDONALD (PICKEN)
Born: Oct 06, 1920
Date of Passing: Oct 19, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPHYLLIS GRACE MACDONALD (nee PICKEN) October 6, 1920 - October 19, 2015 Phyllis was born in Calgary, Alberta to William and Grace Picken. The family moved to Vancouver, British Columbia where the tiny, feisty redhead eventually met Angus MacDonald. The handsome charmer swept her off her feet on New Year's Eve and was the love of her life ever after. Together they shared all the joys and griefs, victories and defeats, harmony and discord that life offers up. In 1994, they moved to Winnipeg where, after 55 years of marriage, Angus passed, leaving Phyllis to soldier on. She bravely made a new life, making new friends and finding new passions, one of which was our family camp, Stonemark. Phyllis was known by many names Tiny, Red, Phyll, Peegee, Mum, Tips, and Gran. Tiny loved her family, dancing, martinis, the Oregon coast, the Cabana at the lake, a good mystery, Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals and her visits to Florida. Gran celebrated her 95th birthday on October 6. In the early evening hours of October 19, peacefully and in her sleep, she went home to join Angus, who we are sure greeted her with Hello, Peegee! and pulled her straight onto heaven's dancefloor. Dance on, Tips! Love you always, Mum. Martinis forever! Phyllis is survived by her son Terry MacDonald (Gloria); daughters Dawn Angela Macdonald (Tom) and Pamela Fryers (Dennis); granddaughter Caitlin Fryers (Stephen); grandsons Terry MacDonald and Stephen MacDonald; her dear sister Peggy Webb; nephew Gordon Webb (Cecilia) and many other nieces and nephews and her very special extended Stonemark family. She is predeceased by husband Angus and her brother Bill. The Family would like to thank all the caregivers at Riverwood Square, Victoria Hospital and the Poseidon Care home, who helped Mum age so gracefully in her last few years. Cremation has occurred; a private family celebration of life will take place. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Mum's name to the charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated.
