MARGARET MARY JARVIS (nee BELOWS) May 6, 1928 - October 21, 2015 With great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of our dearly beloved wife, mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend. She passed away peacefully on October 21, 2015 at West Park Manor. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband Mel of 56 years, children Lyne (Gary), Lisa (Jim), Robyn (Janine), grandchildren Steve, Colin, Taisa (Robin) and Meg, sister Dorothy (Dave) Blain and sister-in-law Jean Belows as well as numerous nieces and nephews and her grand dog Ryleigh. Mom was preceded by her parents John and Mary Belows, brothers John and Artie Belows, sisters Evelyn Flatt, Elsie Dean and Arlene Laurin and niece Sharron Dusessoy. She was born in Morris, Manitoba and moved at a young age to Brunkild, Manitoba where the family lived until they bought a home on Fermor Street in Winnipeg. Marg graduated with her LPN Licence and moved to Sioux Lookout, Ontario for her first job at the Sioux Lookout Hospital. There she was part of the air rescue team that flew to Northern communities, transporting patients. Upon returning to Winnipeg she completed a lengthy career at the Winnipeg Clinic. Marg's most rewarding career came last, and that was raising her three daughters, taking care of our home, cooking, gardening, sewing and spending time with family and friends. Family was so important to her, and her unconditional love for all of us was unwavering. She had a strong relationship with the Messiah Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir for many years. Marg and Mel travelled to many destinations in Europe, USA and Canada. They were fortunate to have good friends and family to enjoy many adventures with, and were able to spend time away during the winter months. They also enjoyed cross country skiing, golfing, bowling and their dance group . She was grandma extraordinaire to her grandchildren and her grand dogs, spoiling them anyway she could, always sharing her time and love. The family would like to express a special thanks to Daisy and the West Park Manor care teams who have cared for mom over the last six years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2. Funeral will be held on Monday, October 26 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 400 Rouge Road at 2:00 p.m. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website.
