Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKAREN LOUISE BANKS (nee WILSON) July 16, 1950 - October 25, 2015 It is with sad and heavy hearts we have to say goodbye. After a long struggle with cancer, Karen is finally at peace. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Ray, daughters Lesley (Bob) Anderson of Portage la Prairie and Janet (Tim) MacKeen of Winnipeg. Grandmother to Braydon, Megan and Ashley Anderson, Devon and Morgan MacKeen. She also leaves behind her brothers Dave (Sharon), John (Mary), Jim (Pauline) and Rob (Terry) Wilson. She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. Karen was born and raised in Guelph, ON. She met Ray in Kingston, ON in 1975 and began their happy marriage in 1983. As a military family they resided in many parts of the country finally settling in Winnipeg where she began an enjoyable career with Canadian Footwear. She retired in 2014. Karen enjoyed time with her grandkids, knitting, camping, travelling and visiting casinos. A service in Karen's memory will be held at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2015. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Karen's name to The Buhler Cancer Clinic at Victoria General Hospital in Winnipeg.
