BARRY SHERIDAN May 30, 1939 - October 26, 2015 It is with sadness that the family of Barry Sheridan announces his passing after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Barry will be lovingly remembered by his children Donna Deurbrouck, David (Alyson) and Diana (Jean) Sarrasin; grandchildren Carson (Amanda), Derek, Ryan, Kevin and Ashley (Ben); six great-grandchildren; brother Wayne (Joy); sister-in-law Lynn; as well as niece and nephews and other family. Barry was predeceased by his beloved wife Norma, his great-grandson Ayden and his brother Bryan. Dad was born in Westbourne and grew-up in Gladstone. Following graduation Dad began working with Manitoba Telephone System and worked his entire career with MTS, retiring in 1994. He met and married Norma in Winnipeg and together they raised their family. Dad, or Papa as he was known to his grandchildren, enjoyed all his time with the family, especially at the cabin in St. Malo. After Mom's passing, Dad developed many close friendships at the racetrack, playing cards and with his coffee buddies at McDonalds. A Celebration of Barry's Life will be held on Friday, October 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Interment to follow at Otterburne Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Barry's memory may be made to a charity of your choice. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • We are so sorry for your loss. Barry and Norma were good friends to my grandparents Bill and Gwen Leigh and we had lots of fun over the years. Our thoughts are with all of you. - Posted by: Averill Stephenson (Friend) on: Oct 30, 2015

  • We are very sorry to hear of your loss. We didn't know Barry but we had purchased the St. Malo cottage from him back in 2006. When we went to the cabin for the very first time after purchasing it, your parents had taken the time to set it up so we could comfortably move in immediately. We were very touched by this and knew that they cherished it as much as we do now. Our deepest sympathies to each of you. - Posted by: Tracey and Darrell (Cottage Owners) on: Oct 29, 2015

  • Your parents were neighbors in St. Malo. We didn't know all of your family but do remember that Barry loved to go canoeing with Carson. So sorry to hear of his passing. - Posted by: Ray & Annette Remillard (Lake neighbors) on: Oct 29, 2015

  • Barry and I had to have shared the smallest classroom in Grade 12. Hadn't seen Barry for years and we had a good visit at the race track last year. Our sympathy to his family. - Posted by: Tom and Laura Freeborn (school friend) on: Oct 28, 2015

  • To Dave and family... Very sorry to hear about the loss of your father. Our deepest condolences to your whole family. Xoxo - Posted by: Yvonne St. Laurent and Gerhard Rademacher (Friend and co-worker) on: Oct 28, 2015
