FRANCES RUTH TURNLEY (nee MUNN) It is with great sadness that the family of Frances Ruth Turnley announces her passing on October 29, 2015. Ruth was born November 2, 1930 in Moosomin Saskatchewan to Bill and Mable Munn. After graduating from high school in Moosomin, Ruth came to Winnipeg to enter a three year nursing program at Health Sciences Centre. During her nursing program, she tended to a patient who became her future husband, Charles Turnley. Chuck and Ruth were married New Year's Day 1954 and have been inseparable ever since. Ruth was a very private person, but her life was full looking after her four children and six grandchildren that she loved unconditionally. Ruth also had a busy career as a Registered Nurse at various hospitals throughout the city. Ruth was known for her ability to make clothes and costumes for her children and grandchildren, and was also wonderful at knitting, baking and cooking. Ruth leaves behind husband Charles Turnley; children, Paul Turnley (Cheryl), Brenda Turnley, David Turnley (Kim) and Karen McCarthy (Rob). She also leaves behind the loves of her life, granddaughters, Megan, Shannon, Danielle, Shauna, Marika and Riese; brother Harold Munn and sister Jean McDowell. Special thanks to the nurses and doctors from WRHA Palliative Care Program who looked after Ruth at her home and treated Ruth and the family with kindness and compassion. Special mention to Chuck who became an instant nurse when he needed to, and who loved Ruth and looked after her at their home as was her wish. Chuck and Ruth have a niche at Glenlawn Cemetery where Ruth will be waiting for Chuck. There will be a private family affair as per Ruth's wishes. Donations may be sent to CancerCare Manitoba.
