ELAINE PEARL EVANS Peacefully, with family by her side, Elaine passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2015, at the St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 86 years. She was predeceased by her husband Lloyd (1984); sister Diana; brother Perry (Vassy); nephew David and parents Theo and Pearl. Left to cherish her memory are her sons Mark (Sharon), David (Sheri); daughter Karen Daeninck (Tom); and seven wonderful grandchildren; Karleigh, Matthew, Noah, Brooke, Blake, Cami, and Felicia. Elaine was born on December 22, 1928 and raised in Winnipeg, MB. After completing high school Elaine moved to Vancouver to pursue a career with GMAC. Mom returned to Winnipeg in the 1950's and in 1958 married the love of her life Lloyd. Elaine and Lloyd loved the outdoors so they built a cottage on Jessica Lake in Whiteshell Provincial Park in the 1960's where many fond memories were made. Elaine was an active member of the community and volunteered countless hours at North Kildonan Community Club when her children were younger and involved in sports. Elaine enjoyed travelling, reading, watching movies, sports and crime shows. She adored spending time with her children and grandchildren often attending and cheering them on during their many sporting and school events. Whether it be school, hockey, ringette, football, dance or a concert; Gramma was extremely proud of all her grandkids accomplishments. More recently, Elaine cherished the time spent making new friendships while living at her condo at the Canoe Club. A special thanks to Doreen, Marife, Lucy, Beth, Marily and Abigail for their care and kindness. In keeping with Elaine's wishes, a private family service celebrating her life will take place at a later date. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one of mom's favorite charities; Cancer Care Manitoba; Heart and Stroke; The Humane Society or the Children's Hospital Foundation. If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to Heaven, and bring you home again. Good Bye. You will be missed, but never forgotten.

  • As Christmas gets closer we begin to realize that it will be your first in heaven. It was not your time to go, but the God took you anyway. Your family wasn’t ready to say goodbye. But God felt he needed you more. Gone but never forgotten Rest in Peace Aunty Elaine. - Posted by: Bonnie Abbott & Bill West (Aunt) on: Oct 31, 2015
