MARGARETE (MARGIE) SUZANNAH LINDBLAD (nee MACHEL) Marge was born April 5, 1933 near Whitemouth, MB. She went to Lonely Dale School. When she was 17, she moved to Winnipeg and went to Kelvin High School. When Marge got a job with a furrier company, she met her husband Lauri Lindblad. They were married June 14, 1958. Together, they raised two children; Wendy and Antero. The family lived on Young Street for many years. Marge left the furrier in 1963 and operated homebased childcare. She did this for 35 years. Many of these children would visit her and always remember Marge taking them to McDonald's on Portage Avenue. In 1972 and in 1987, Marge went to Finland to meet and visit her husband's family. In 1996, Marge and Lauri bought their dream home on Denson Place and walked to Polo Park to do their shopping, etc. Margie had problems walking and became a resident of Lions Manor in 2003. She formed new friendships and settled into life at Lions. She enjoyed these activities very much and the Lion's staff took very good care of her. Her husband Lauri joined her at the Lions in 2012. She passed away on October 27, 2015. Margie leaves behind her son Antero; daughter Wendy; grandchildren, Jennifer, Sean and Jason Majury; four great-grandchildren, Alexis and Katelyn Majury, Wyatt Ellis and Riley Kasprick; her sisters, Ellie Anderson and Mardie Zech; brother Eric Machel and many nieces and nephews in Canada and in Finland. A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Bardal Funeral Chapel, 843 Sherbrook Street. Bardal Funeral Home 204-774-7474 Condolences www.bardal.ca

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Hi Uncle Laurie, Wendy and Antrow: We are very sorry for your loss. I remember Auntie Margie for her laugh and cheerful nature. I had never seen her angry. I remember visiting when she had a home day care and she was always available to babysit and help the families out. I hope all of you are doing well and wish you the best in your future.
