Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCECIL BOYD BUSBY It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Cecil Boyd Busby with his daughter at his side, Sunday, October 18, 2015 at age 87. Boyd will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Leslie (Hugh); grandson Andrew Lizotte, and brother Art (Evelyn). Dad was predeceased by his wife of 45 years Marie Yvonne (Henault) in 2000. He was born in Reston, MB the youngest of seven children on August 7, 1928. Dad began working for CP Railway as a relief agent, July of 1946 at the age of 17 and travelled up and down the rails to many small stations in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. In 1951 he became a train dispatcher and settled in Brandon, MB. On June 14, 1955 he married Marie Yvonne Henault and in 1962 their daughter Leslie was born. They lived in Brandon until 1974 when Boyd was transferred to Winnipeg. He retired from CPR in 1986 and enjoyed spending hours outside gardening. In 1987 Andrew was born and he knew the joy of a grandchild. A stroke in 2006 prevented Dad from many of the activities he had enjoyed, but still managed to live independently. The family would like to thank Ed and Kathy Burgess, his friends and neighbours of 25 years for their love and kindness and the Nursing Staff and HCAs of 3 West at Concordia Hospital for their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place in Reston, MB at a later date.

I too was sad to hear of Uncle Boyd's passing. I fondly remember our visits West to visit the Busby clan, including Uncle Boyd and Aunt Yvonne. May he rest in peace in his home town of Reston. Our thoughts are with Leslie and her family at this time. - Posted by: Melanie Busby and Goldie Edworthy (Niece and spouse) on: Nov 16, 2015

We used to call him "Boyd" and sometimes "Buzz" I was a telegrapher at many points on the Brandon Division, and worked with Boyd when he was a dispatcher in Brandon. He was a great guy. When we established Souris Railway Museum in 2008, he graciously sent us a good-sized donation. I always considered him as one of my friends. May you rest in Peace, thy good & faithful servant. - Posted by: Ferg Devins (Fellow-worker) on: Nov 09, 2015
