LOIS DALY
Born: Apr 08, 1933
Date of Passing: Nov 07, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLOIS DALY (nee Tod) April 8, 1933 - November 7, 2015 With sadness the family announces the death of Lois Daly on November 7, 2015 after a brief illness (cancer). Lois was predeceased by her parents Jim and Sophie, her sister Shirley, and her son Michael. Lois is survived by her husband Denis Patrick Bowes Daly; children Kathy (Wayne), Shawn (Susan), and Kerry (Rita); grandchildren Shea, Patrick, and Jacynthe; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Lois grew up with her family in Norwood, and later moved to River Heights. She worked at the Free Press then later the department of Vital Statistics. She married the love of her life in 1952 and in 1962 moved to Charleswood to a home on the river where the family lived for 50 years. Lois filled the home with love, kindness, and an open-hearted gentle spirit. Her garden always burst with flowers and vegetables, and she found great joy in watching the wildlife and the turning of the seasons, especially the ice breaking up along the river in their backyard. Lois and Denis enjoyed their great neighbours on Willow Ridge and Southboine Drive over the years. The family would like to thank the staff at the Grace Hospital and the Grace Hospice for their wonderful care. No service will be held. A private family gathering will take place at a later date. If friends so desire donations can be made to the Grace Hospital Foundation, Fort Whyte Alive, or the charity of your choice.

To Denis and the family, I am so sorry for your loss. Gary and I were blessed to have had the opportunity to share many a conversation with Lois at the end of the long driveway on Southboine, while we would be out walking our dog. I can not think of a single visit when Lois was not wearing that incredible smile or those gleaming eyes. It was Lois who had the greatest influence on our decision to move into the area. While waiting for our realtor, we stopped and asked Lois about the area, its safety and its history. With her warmth, sincerity, and joyful nature she shared not only neighbourhood stories but her giving-spirit. There and then we decided, how could we not live on Willow Ridge. Thank you, Lois. You will always be remembered and your joyful spirit follows us on our walks down Southboine. - Posted by: Charmaine Lyons & Gary Hook (Willow Ridge neighbour) on: Nov 13, 2015

with deepest sympathy to the family for your loss. Lois and Dennis always welcomed me so warmly into their home. I'll always remember her story about her champagne de-bubbler from Tiffany's in New York. - Posted by: Margo Matwychuk (Michael's friend) on: Nov 11, 2015

so sorry to lose Auntie Lois. I have many fond memories of all the cousins at the Southboine house and her cheerful support of all the things we did. I can't make it for the remembrance as we live out of town but my thoughts are with everyone during this time. Tim Daly - Posted by: Tim Daly (nephew) on: Nov 11, 2015

Hardly a day passed that Lois wasn't out in her yard puttering, pruning or working with her flowers. She always had a smile on her face and time for a friendly chat. My condolences to Denis and the family. She will be missed. - Posted by: Bernice Heinrichs (Old neighbour) on: Nov 10, 2015
