  • Our hearts are saddened and heavy having just read about Al's passing. We will certainly miss him. We truly enjoyed getting to know Al, in the short time we were neighbours at the lake. Our deepest sympathy to Val and the entire Chitty family. - Posted by: Dwight and Marilyn Wilson (Neighbours) on: Nov 19, 2015

  • Dear Val and family. We were so sorry to read about Al's passing. We often speak about some of the Lions Manor's get togethers and more especially, the bonspiels at the lake in the winter and the summer visits to your welcoming cottage. We are in Mexico right now but will be in touch when we get home. Sending you loving thoughts. Barb - Posted by: Barb and Kim Rach (Friends from Lions Manor days) on: Nov 19, 2015

  • Deepest condolences to Val and family. Val, I don't know if you will remember me and my Mum and Dad, Beth and Glen Ridings. We were in Baker Lake when you and Al were. I recognized his picture right away. I'm not surprised to see the lovely tributes. May your memories comfort you. Lisa - Posted by: Lisa Jordan (Ridings) (Friend) on: Nov 15, 2015

  • Many great memories with Al and Val at the lake. Pot luck suppers, crib nights, football nights, fundraising. All good times with the Beach Family. • Val, Melanie, Jennifer and families... our thoughts and prayers are with you in the loss of your husband, father and grandfather and to Al's siblings too in the loss of your brother. I will always remember Al's great sense of humour and his sense of caring for others. I hope the love and support of family and friends carries you through the coming days and weeks as you share wonderful stories and memories. I am sorry that I cannot attend Al's service but know that my heart is with you during this sad time. Heaven has another angel in it's midst. Faith, Hope and Love... but the greatest of these is Love. Love is forever... Deb Woodman and family - Posted by: Deb Woodman (friend and former co-worker) on: Nov 12, 2015

  • Carl and I were surprised and saddened to learn of Al's passing. We always enjoyed our times together although that hasn't happened in the last few years. Churchill memories always included the Chitty's and Al's distinctive chuckle. There were many times that "the boys" got into trouble; and Al would just chuckle. Our sympathies to Jennifer, Melanie and theire families as well as the extended family. We wish you well..... - Posted by: Mae and Carl Fisher (Good Friends) on: Nov 12, 2015
