MARION WRIGHT Marion Wright died peacefully at age 94. Born Marion MacDonald, she grew up in British Columbia and attended UBC. Marion continued her studies at the University of Toronto where she met and married Morgan Wright. An outstanding, and very conscientious student herself, Marion couldn't help but be intrigued by the dashing Psychology student in the seat next to hers who never took a note. Marion loved to laugh and derived great enjoyment from her children and fun-loving husband. Her positive nature and excellent sense of humour were cherished by her many friends. Marion and Morgan were partners in lots of wonderful adventures. Marion would spend eight weeks every summer on their beautiful island in Lake of the Woods, no phone, no electricity, no running water and a seven mile trip by boat to the nearest store. She organized a year long sabbatical in Europe which included all four kids, and she was the co-pilot of a VW Camper from Winnipeg to Mexico City with Morgan at the wheel. Marion had a successful career as a Clinical Psychologist. She was the head of the Psychology Department at The Grace Hospital in Winnipeg and received the Clifford J. Robson Distinguished Psychologist in Manitoba Award. In her spare time, Marion painted. An artist at heart, Marion delighted in great design while lamenting how much beige there was in the world. Marion was predeceased by her beloved son Bruce, and Morgan. Allan and his wife Marcia, Henry and friend Gail, Angie and her husband Greg Reaume, mourn their mother's death but celebrate a life well lived. Marion leaves behind four of the world's most brilliant, accomplished grandsons, at least according to her: Joel, Luke, Kyle and Nicolas. Special thanks to Alixe, Kelly and Elizabeth for being angels. Marion loved art, chocolate, her fabulous friends, Paris, clothes, did we mention chocolate...and her family. In lieu of flowers, please give a few dollars to someone who is down on their luck. Marion would like that.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Our very deepest sympathy to the family of such a wonderful lady. We have fond memories of times shared with Marion and Morgan. Their "joi de vie" was evident to all. - Posted by: Vince t and Dorothy Paul (Friend) on: Nov 15, 2015

  • Marion was one of the most delightful people we have ever met - and we always chat about our lunch with her whenever we drive along Beach Drive. We always hoped we would see her again and listen to her hilarious stories. Thinking of you all with sympathy. Neil and Lorraine - Posted by: Lorraine Douglas () on: Nov 14, 2015
