Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRICHARD ALBERT WARD Richard Albert Ward, 92, of Halifax, NS passed away November 11, 2015 at home with loving family. Born in Winnipeg, MB he was the son of the late Arch and Lillian (Brazier) Ward. After serving in the Royal Canadian Navy on the SS Wentworth during the Second World War, he graduated from Mechanical Engineering at McGill University in 1947 and married Joyce (MacArthur) from Pictou, NS on May 17, 1947 in Montreal, PQ. Survived by sons Richard E. of Toronto, ON; Charles J. M. of Lethbridge, AB; and daughter B. Joanne (Ward) Bouchard of Halifax, NS; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his first wife Joyce (MacArthur) and second wife Phyllis (O'Connor); two sisters May Ball of Thunder Bay, ON and Joyce Coldwell of Selkirk, MB. He will be deeply missed and his great zest for life and eternal joie de vivre will always be celebrated by his family and many friends. Cremation has taken place. A celebratory service will be held, with Father John Wright officiating, on Friday, November 20 at 2:00 p.m. in Cruikshanks Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street, Halifax, NS. After the service the family will be pleased to receive family and friends at a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Parkinsons Society will be greatly appreciated.
