Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEILEEN MURIEL CRAIG On Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Boundary Trails Health Centre, Eileen Craig, 94, of Morden died peacefully. Only child of Walter and Alice Richardson, widow of John Hamilton (Jack) Craig. A lifelong Winnipegger, Eileen worked at Manning Depot R.C.A.F. during the Second World War. Post-war, after various positions she began her career with CN, taking early retirement in 1982 as executive secretary to the chief of operations, prairie region. She met Jack and after a brief courtship they were married in 1973. Marriage brought many joys to the rest of her life, becoming Kerry's stepmother was one of the first. Retirement brought more time for gardening and friends as well as trips south to warm up for a few weeks in winter. She treasured time spent with Josh and Hannah, giving her grandchildren countless adventures and opportunities. Eileen always volunteered with many groups, and the Dugald Costume Museum was one of her favourites. A founding member of Chapter F' of the PEO, she remained an active member throughout her life. Eileen's last two years were spent closer to family in Morden. With home care, and family nearby, she was able to live quite independently, making new friends, going on outings and continuing her philanthropy. A celebration of Eileen's life will be held November 28 at 2:00 p.m. at Homestead South. Cremation has taken place, with private interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eileen's memory may be made to Boundary Trails Health Centre Foundation, Palliative Care Unit, Box 2000 STN MAIN, Winkler, MB R6W 1H8. Auntie "Richie" a close childhood friend of my Mom used to come and visit us in BC ( 60s and 70s )where we would spend time up at the log cabin on Denman Island , take hikes along the local trails and visit the museums and theatre. She was always so positive, cheery gracious and caring - No matter where I was living I could look forward to receiving 2-3 letters a year from her in her beautiful handwriting .... Condolences to her family ..May she rest in peace - Posted by: Bryony Papaxanthos (god daughter) on: Nov 29, 2015
