Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWENDY DIANE MILLER (nee HODGINS) June 19, 1947 - November 21, 2015 Wendy was the only daughter of the late Leslie and Barbara Hodgins and was a big sister to younger brother Wayne. The family lived on Rutland Street in St. James and Wendy completed her schooling at St. James Collegiate. Wendy married George Miller on August 29, 1970 and together they had a daughter Tracey and a son Ryan. Wendy was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was delighted with her grandchildren Britany, Jaidyn, Carsyn and most recently with great-grandson Carter. She will be greatly missed by her entire family and all who knew and loved her. Wendy began her working career at The Catholic Women's League, then spent 25 years working at Tec Voc High School. Wendy and George were long-time residents of The Maples and Wendy enjoyed volunteering in the community and served as a Board Member of the Maples Recreation Association. Wendy also acted as manager of numerous teams that her family coached or played on. She was particularly fond of taking bus trips with the teams and the Miller house was always open to "the kids". Wendy also enjoyed gambling trips with friends and family and would always find time for refreshments and a conversation with friends. Funeral services will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue on Saturday, December 5 at 10:00 a.m. The family would like to thank the staff at Fred Douglas Lodge for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Wendy's name to Fred Douglas Lodge. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.ca 204-885-9715

I was very sorry to hear about Wendy. We were next door neighbours as children on Rutland Street and kept in touch throughout the years. Although she and I didn't see each other often, we always had a lot of shared memories and a good laugh whenever our paths crossed. I send my sincere condolences to all her family and friends, I will miss her. - Posted by: Pamela Bennett-Hoch () on: Dec 10, 2015

There are no words for how much you will be missed grandma! You always treated me as one of your own grandchildren and I always looked forward to sleepovers at grandma and grandads house! You were one of the most amazing women I had the pleasure of knowing and I am lucky to have had you in my life. You were taken much too soon but I just hope that wherever you are, you are no longer in pain and you're looking over all of us. RIP Wendy, you will be forever loved and forever missed!! Love you! xo - Posted by: Candace Hyde (Grand daughter by choice) on: Dec 04, 2015

Rest Peacefully Wendy, gone way too soon from your family and friends. It was privilage to know Wendy as a long time neighbour as we lived across the street. We moved across the street when my Son Jordon was 3 and as was Brit. Of course with Brit's bubbly and smilty attitute little shy Jordon she took him and as her best buddy and to this day they still are 21 years later. Wendy opened her home and heart to treat my Jordon as one of her own kids I know Jordon will sincerely miss you Wendy you will left an impression in our hearts and in our memories. Lots of hugs and prayers for the family as they carry on with your memories and the next time we all meet. RIP beautiful lady. - Posted by: Angie Foley (Longtime Neighbour) on: Nov 30, 2015

Wendy was my earliest friend on Rutland Street. We kept in touch through my visits to Winnipeg when the 4 girlfriends would get together for a lunch or brunch. We four were Anne White johnson, Heather MacNeil Hamit, Wendy and I. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to visit her in the care home and to tell her that I loved her. Wendy was a kind and good person. I will miss her very much. - Posted by: Nancy taylor Hamilton (Childhood friend) on: Nov 29, 2015
