DOLLY TOLCHINSKY Dolly Tolchinsky passed away October 27, 2015 at the age of 85 with family by her side. She is survived by sons Mark (Carol), Sidney (Carol); grandchildren Rayna-Shea (Ben), Trina (Jason), Willow, Jacob and great-grandchildren Landon, Greyson, Brendan and Kara; brother Norman Wolk (Bev); brother-in-law Howard Gerber (Gloria) as well as countless family and friends. Her husband Norman of 63 years; parents Jack and Winnie; sisters Judy and Phyllis, predeceased her. Mom was born and raised in Winnipeg. At 15 she was the first "popcorn girl" at the Times Theatre. She worked as a sales girl at Kresge's until marriage, returning to work many years later at Weight Watchers where she worked part time for over 25 years. She was also a lifetime member of B'nai Brith. Dolly and Norman often travelled to Calgary to visit their son and family. In retirement, they spent many winters in Palm Springs and later in Victoria. Mom took great pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting, making everything from sweaters, mittens, afghans and anything else family and friends asked for. After Norman died she moved into River Ridge Retirement Residence where she made many long lasting friendships. The family thanks Dr. Claire Jaeger, the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital and River Ridge for their exceptional care and compassion. We also thank Rabbi Lander for all his support. Donations in her memory may be made to CancerCare in support of breast cancer research and treatment or the charity of your choice.
