RON FRANKLIN July 18, 1955 - November 30, 2015 With great sadness the family of Ron Franklin announces his passing, at home, on Monday, November 30, 2015, at the age of 60 years. Ron leaves behind his soul mate, Robin, his wife of 36 years; and sons, Jesse and Tanner of which he was both extremely proud of. He will also be lovingly remembered by his mother Doris; siblings, Charlie (Kathleen), Gwen (Jim), Kathy (Gordon) and Doug (Linda); as well as lots and lots of cousins; nieces; nephews and his very special circle of long-time friends. He was predeceased by his father, John; and brother, Ken. Ron's career choice took him into the car business, starting out at Carter Motors for many years, then opening his own car lot, Access Auto in 1994. Ron lived for the deal, he was everyone's go to guy. He always knew someone who could help you out, we're all going to miss that. Ron enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and recently RVing, with a month long trip to Alberta this past July, meeting up with friends Ron and Elfriede from British Columbia. He was an avid pool player all his life, enjoying many years with the Veterans English Billiards and Snooker leagues. This spring he was awarded the Sportsmanship trophy from UNAF #283 Men's Double Snooker League. A celebration of Ron's life will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in ANAVETS Unit 283, 3584 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, to honour Ron, please do something nice for someone in need. Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB in care of arrangements 204.897.4665. I'm so very sorry that Ron passed on far too early in his life... I knew Ronnie mostly from back when we were kids in our early teens, living in the same St. James neighbourhood. I remember we quickly became really good friends and spent a ton of fun times together, some of which involved a few things that we probably really shouldn't have been doing, but being kids, they were the best of times. Like when a group of us would build ourselves a fire, down along the river bank in the summer evenings where we would hang out, just enjoying the night time by the water and would likely be smoking "Export A" cigarettes. We were always really good buddies....and I'll never forget him. Ronnie will always hold a special loving place deep in my heart. My deepest condolences to his wife Robin, his sons Jesse and Tanner......along with all of the family and friends who loved him so. - Posted by: Kim Roziere (old friend) on: Dec 05, 2015

Robin, Jesse and Tanner, Words can't describe the sorrow we feel for all of you at this time. Knowing that Ron is free of pain and happy doesn't make things easier. The fond memories that we have are etched in our hearts. We feel blessed to have had you in our lives for what seems like a very short time, yet it spans over most of our lives. I met Robin in grade 4 and we spend our childhood together. Ron came along in our late teens and we loved him from the start. Love lasts forever so we know it's not "good-bye" rather "till we meet again on the other side". I know Ron will have the best car waiting for us. Watch over us dear friend and rest in peace xo - Posted by: Brian and Wendy Sherrington (Friend ) on: Dec 03, 2015

Robin, Jesse and Tanner- It is a rare feat these days to sustain relationships over 10,20,30 and in my case 43 years. It speaks volumes about my friends character and strength of commitment to nourishing our evolving relationship. We have shared many adventures through the years and his storytelling ability keeps those adventures in the foreground. I look back to pictures from our Rockies trip this past summer. Despite his failing health all the pictures of Ron are of him smiling and fully immersed in the experience. This is who Ron is and in my heart, always will be. I met Ron through his niece and my longtime friend Krista. It just so happens that my parents knew Ron as well from school. I adopted him as Uncle Ron, it just felt natural. Robin, Jesse & Tanner, So sorry by Ron's passing. As stated, Ron was the go to guy & loved bartering the deal. Although I'm saddened by his passing, I'm relieved he's at peace with his struggle. Throughout the many conversations I've had with Ron, I can't describe how proud he was of his family. Ron was definitely a one of a kind friend & his memory will cherished.
