Date of Passing: Nov 24, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOUGLAS HAIG DAVIDSON June 17, 1947 - November 24, 2015 After a courageous battle with colon cancer, and with family by his side, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas Haig Davidson, son of the late Lucy and Haig Davidson. Left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 46 years, Linda (Irish) and pride and joy, daughter Kelly; his sister Karen Gelley (Sis), her husband Jim and nephew Matthew. Also brothers Haig and Todd, and sisters Billie-Anne (deceased) and Leslie. Although his immediate family was small, his circle of friends was large and loving. Doug's education opened up a world of professional opportunities as a writer, director and producer. A career path at the University of Winnipeg, CBC, National Film Board, CTV and many more through The Peer Group, led to lifelong friendships. The family would like to extend deepest appreciation to Dr. Qureshi and the exceptional staff at Buhler Cancer Centre, Victoria General Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Buhler Cancer Centre at Victoria General Hospital Foundation, 2340 Pembina Highway, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3T 2Z3. In honouring Doug's wishes, cremation and private internment has taken place at St. Vital Cemetery. A special thanks to Bob Davis for his kind words. A Celebration of Life will follow next summer.

A better neighbor and friend there never was. Always there to lend a helping hand or share a laugh or two, or three. Always in our thoughts, will be sorely missed. - Posted by: Dave & Judy (friends & neighbors ) on: Dec 09, 2015

I was very saddened to learn of Doug's passing. I have fond memories of our years sharing classes at Glenlawn. Doug's sense of humour and his kindness were always appreciated. I ran into him several years ago and we briefly shared updates of where our lives had taken us. Doug spoke so lovingly of his family. My sincere condolences are extended to you. - Posted by: Sharon (Hagglund) Conrad (High school classmate and friend) on: Dec 06, 2015
