Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHAZEL RUTH HILL (nee WILSON) April 7, 1923 - November 23, 2015 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend at the age of 92. She was predeceased by her husband Len on December 20, 2006; infant daughter Heather; her parents; only sister Ada and one brother Bill. She leaves to mourn her passing, her four daughters, Wendy (Dennis) Knowles of Lindsay, ON, Barbara (Wpg), Carol (Butch) Hawryluk (Wpg) and Marilyn (Marty) Schaay of Airdrie, AB.; her grandchildren, Carson and Dallas (Amy) Knowles, Kelly (Brian) Bain, Grant (Amanda) Hawryluk, Scott (Tam) Schaay, Mark (Lee-Ann) Schaay, her great-grandchildren, Avery and Jackson Knowles, Mya and Noah Schaay, Alena, Chelsea and Madison Bain, Brynn and Kaelin Hawryluk and Garrett Illlsley. She also leaves to mourn her passing, her brother Leonard and many nieces and nephews. Mom was born on April 7, 1923 to Arthur Stiles and Edith Dean Wilson in Ridgeville, MB. She received her schooling in several locations within Manitoba and her business training at Dominion Business College. After college she worked for Remington Rand for two years. She was married to Len on September 9, 1946 in Winnipeg. They resided most of their married life in Winnipeg, except for seven years in Saskatchewan at Kipling and Regina. After Len retired they moved to Chilliwack, B.C. and spent twenty-four years there, returning to Winnipeg in July 2006. After Dads passing in December 2006, Mom continued to reside in Winnipeg. Mom was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Manitoba and B.C. from 1970 to the present. She was involved in community affairs and liked to sew and knit for her family and friends. She was well known for her homemade cookies as her grands and greats will attest too. Cremation has taken place and in keeping with Moms wishes there will be no formal funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Eastern Star Chalet, 525 Cathcart St. Winnipeg, MB, R3R 0S6 or to the charity of your choice.
