Remaining to forever cherish Linda's memory are her husband, Brian; daughter Angela (Daryl); son David (Robin); cherished grandchildren, Aiden and Mason; step-granddaughter Amber; her father Orville Towns; sister Janice Graham (Brad and Sharon); as well as numerous friends and relatives. She was predeceased by her mother, Doris Towns; nephew Steven Patterson; father Archie Patterson; and lifelong friend, Lorna Rose. On August 14, 1947 Linda was born in Killarney, Manitoba. She completed her schooling in Killarney and then moved to Morden, Manitoba to work for MTS as a switchboard operator. Linda's job with MTS brought her to Sanford, Manitoba in 1967. There she met Brian and they married on February 24, 1968. She went on to work for McLeod`s in Winnipeg, Manitoba, until becoming a stay-at-home mom upon the birth of daughter Angela in 1974. Son David followed in 1981. Linda went back to work part-time, working for Chapel Lawn Funeral Home and later at the daycare in Sanford, until her health prevented her from working there any further. In order to keep busy, Linda later became involved with the Macdonald Seniors group, and loved every minute of that. She was also involved in many areas of the Sanford United Church and community, even being recognized for her service in the community with a Volunteer Service Award in 2013. A celebration of Linda's life will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. in the Brunkild Memorial Recreation Centre, Brunkild, MB. Linda was an unexpected blessing in my life. I met her for the first time last spring when she showed up on my doorstep bearing an ice cream pail size of her delicious home made chicken noodle soup. I just had breast cancer surgery and was feeling pretty lousy. Seeing her big smile and getting a hug warmed me to my core. Linda continued her visits throughout my treatments, spoiling me with more home made soups and her famous chocolate chip cookies. I feel so honoured to have met Linda. She was my angel! My deepest sympathies go out to the whole family. - Posted by: Colette Garlinski () on: Dec 08, 2015
