MARY CHEESEQUAY (DURHAM) August 15, 1941 - November 28, 2015 In Mary's last years she suffered from heart disease and diabetes and passed away peacefully on November 28, 2015 at age 74 in her apartment on Robinson Street. Predeceased by her daughter Donna Marie Durham, her parents David and Sarah Cheesequay, brother Louie Cheesequay and sister Elsie. Mary is survived by her sons Terrance Durham and Louis Durham, daughters Roberta Durham, Kathleen Durham and sisters Ceceile, Madeline, and Mary and other family members, many nieces, nephews and friends who loved her dearly despite life situations that kept them apart for periods of time. Mary's life was not always an easy one such as being a survivor of Aboriginal Residential Schools. But Mary never let hard times prevent her from having a sense of humour. She is fondly remembered as bringing smiles to the faces of all who loved her. Mary was a strong willed woman who overcame many hardships and often felt that she had to handle things on her own even when family and friends reminded her she could also lean on them too. Mary will be loved and remembered always. The service will be held December 10, 2015 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Avenue, with cremation to follow.
