Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBRYAN ALEXANDER COUTTS April 5, 1954 - December 16, 2015 Peacefully after a courageous battle with lung cancer, Bryan passed away at Riverview Health Centre on Wednesday, December 16th. He leaves to mourn his devoted wife Connie, daughters Chelsea Perkins (Tyler) and Chloe Coutts, their mother Barbara Coutts and granddaughter Sawyer Perkins. Bryan was predeceased by his beloved parents Charlie and Millie Coutts and Aunt Agnes. Bryan grew up in East Kildonan. He was an active member of the E.K. YMCA and Pan Am Pool, enjoying diving, swimming and gymnastics as a teenager. He volunteered at St. Amant and taught swimming lessons to special needs children. Bryan worked most of his adult life in the sales industry, first in furniture and then in jewellery at both Peoples and Independent Jewellers. Bryan was a very outgoing and charismatic person which made him many friends and very successful in his career. In later years he decided to revisit his passion for helping others by obtaining his certification in Applied Counselling and spent several years working with those in need at MacDonald Youth Services, Knowles Centre and later at Behavioral Health Foundation. Bryan was artistic - an excellent drawer, always happily helping his girls with any school projects. Bryan found great friendship in his wife Connie. They shared many common interests and enjoyed cracking jokes together, going out dancing and listening to music. He loved music, especially the Blues and anything involving the harmonica. He enjoyed landscaping and took great pride in keeping his lawn and yard immaculate. Bryan was a very kind and caring person. He loved his family deeply, especially his daughters and was extremely proud of them. He was very grateful that he got to meet his beautiful granddaughter Sawyer before his passing. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Riverview 3 East for their compassionate care as well as Dr. Martin and Janice from the palliative care team for the exceptional support they provided. A private celebration of life will be held for close family and friends in the days to follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to 3 East - Riverview Health Centre or Graffiti Art Programming Inc. "I'm not claiming divinity. I've never claimed purity of soul. I've never claimed to have the answers to life but I still believe in peace, love and understanding." - John Lennon

I never had much opportunity to associate with Bryan, I left Winnipeg in 1957. I do remember playing croquet in Uncle Charlie's back yard, Bryan must have thought it was his turn to play, unfortunately my back was his target. I'm glad he wasn't taller or stronger...still remember that moment RIP Cousin - Posted by: Charles Hamilton Coutts (Palm Desert,CA) (Cousin) on: Dec 22, 2015
